Running online ads is one thing, but understanding and interpreting the stats and results is another. At Honeysuite we cover the important basic metrics you should know.
The total amount you spent on ads.
How many people clicked your ad.
The percentage of people who clicked your ad out of those who have seen it.
How many times your ad was seen.
How many different people saw your ad.
Knowing these basic metrics goes a long way in understanding how effective your ads are.
Interpreting your results starts with understanding your campaign objectives,
Your results will differ depending on your objective, for example, if you are choosing awareness as an objective, your expected number of impressions will most likely be much higher than if you choose reach as your objective. If you choose web traffic you should expect to see more clicks than if you choose reach etc.
You should be looking at your stats week over week and making any adjustments accordingly. If you notice any downward trends or differences, it may be your content or copy that is the reason. Take a look at all of your content and try to determine what content is performing best and imitate it. If your clicks are steadily decreasing, it may be time to update your ad copy or improve your imagery.
