There’s no question Facebook and Instagram are two of the most popular social media companies in the world. Between the two companies, there are billions of users. You may already know that Facebook owns Instagram, but it is not as widely known that Facebook Ads Manager runs ads on both Facebook and Instagram.
Because the ads are generally created to be served on both platforms, we will show you some examples of ads from a small business on both platforms below.

The same ad will display differently on feeds. As a result, you should create your ads with slightly different styles. The way Instagram ads display in feed, Instagram appears less salesly and more in line with what organic posts will appear like. There is still a “See Menu” Call To Action, but instead of looking obvious like a button as Facebook’s CTA’s it appears more low-key. Due to Instagram not displaying Headline Text, you should be including your main CTA in the body text.
Story Ads are very similar, as you can see above, there is really no major differences that are worth noting.
Honeysuite will automatically serve your ad on both platforms. Facebook automatically determines the breakdown of spend between channels. They will place ads wherever they will perform best based on their algorithm.
