Creating great content for your business is a crucial part of your online presence. No matter what industry you are in, your social media should tell a compelling visual story. You should also be using your social media pages to promote your business and what makes it unique, but the content is key. We put together our 5 Tips For Great Small Business Social Media Photos.
Whether or not you are advertising your business on social media, you should follow some basic guidelines:
Before you even think about self-promotion, you need to post content that is engaging on its own.
You should be posting at least a few times a week depending on what industry you are in. If you own a restaurant, you should try to post daily. If you run a professional service company, you should be fine a few times a week.
This sounds like a no-brainer, but if you scroll through your feed, you will notice that not everyone thinks so. Instagram has filters automatically built in to help make this even easier. But we recommend paying for an upgraded service like VSCO or Adobe Lightroom.
This is especially important with mobile phones because they are bouncing around in your pocket or purse. Use a damp soft cloth designed to clean glasses or cameras.
Lighting is so important in all photography. Lighting can be the difference between a great photo and one that doesn’t hit the mark. If you are on a budget. we recommend using natural light as often as you possibly can. Fluorescent lighting is not ideal. If you are willing to invest a bit, check out Amazon for a ring light or a lighting kit, they can be a huge life hack.
